At WrestleMania 35, The Baddest Woman on the Planet, Ronda Rousey, became one of the first three women to headline The Show of Shows. The three-way ended with Becky Lynch becoming the first woman to pin Ronda and win the Raw and SmackDown Live Women's titles in the process. Ever since her loss at 'Mania, Rousey hasn't been seen on WWE TV.

She did keep her fans updated on her whereabouts and regularly posted videos from Browsey Acres on her official Youtube channel. Recently, WWE made a huge announcement, stating that a couple of new WWE Superstars would be joining the cast of Total Divas. The lineup now includes Sonya Deville, and none other than Ronda Rousey! The former Raw Women's Champion is now officially a member of the new season of Total Divas. Rousey's presence on the show will definitely give the fans a string of interesting moments and confrontations. Let's take a look at five reasons why Ronda Rousey is joining the cast of WWE Total Divas.

#5 There's a chance Rousey can't possibly be brought in an in-ring capacity right now

Rousey with Browne

After WrestleMania 35 was done and dusted with, Ronda Rousey disappeared from WWE TV and Becky Lynch immediately got into a feud with Lacey Evans on the Raw after WrestleMania. Ronda made waves soon after, by talking about how she was planning to start a family with husband Travis Browne.

I decided to stick around and we planned, after WrestleMania — me and my amazing husband here would go off and start trying to start our family.

Rousey's plans to have a baby could be the reason why WWE didn't bring her in straight to TV. An announcement from Ronda regarding the arrival of a baby could hinder storyline plans on the main roster, but won't affect plans much in regards to Total Divas, a show which doesn't require women to wrestle on a regular basis.

#4 Ratings and mainstream attention

After teasing a WWE debut for a long while, Ronda Rousey shocked the Pro Wrestling world at the Royal Rumble 2018 by coming out at the end of the show. She impressed the WWE Universe with her moves at WrestleMania 34 and went on to win the Raw Women's title.

Rousey's mainstream popularity was one of the biggest reasons why women managed to headline a WrestleMania for the first time. Rousey was once a major draw in UFC and carried in tons of mainstream coverage with her when she came to WWE. Her popularity is bound to help Total Divas garner good numbers.

#3 Rousey could kick off mini-feuds on the show

It has been a long while since Rousey left WWE (she still is under contract though). Her inclusion in the new season of Total Divas could be a great way for her to make a smooth transition to the Raw brand again. Back during Rousey's legendary title reign, she got into a few mini-feuds against the likes of Dana Brooke, on the flagship show.

WWE could be planning to bring back Rousey for next year's WrestleMania. She can get into a bunch of short-term rivalries on the show, that could culminate on Raw in the form of short squashes, but only if Rousey is fit enough and isn't on her way to have a baby.

#2 Planning for the future?

Ronda Rousey's contract with WWE still has a long time to expire. Her contract will end on April 10, 2021. Is her arrival on Total Divas a sign of things to come?

There's a big possibility that Ronda will be coming back for at least another WrestleMania match, but what if she doesn't? We know by now that Rousey wants to start a family with Travis Browne.

As for WWE plans in the future, we want to have a baby first. I don’t know what it’s like to have a baby. I could look down at this beautiful child and be like, ‘F**k everything, I don’t care about anything else other than this baby’ - and, you’ll never see me again.

What if Rousey decides to stop wrestling for good and wants to have a baby? Her contract still has more than a year left. This is where Total Divas comes in. WWE possibly won't let Rousey's remaining dates get wasted, and would bring her back for another season or two of Total Divas. The show won't require her to wrestle matches, and WWE will benefit from her presence on the show.

#1 A way to build up Rousey vs Lynch

Rousey and Lynch

Ever since Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35, she has been stating that she wants "The Baddest Woman on the Planet" in a singles encounter at next year's WrestleMania. The story makes sense too! Lynch defeated Rousey in a controversial finish, and it was probably done to build up a future singles match.

Lynch could berate Ronda for becoming soft and joining the Total Divas cast instead of coming back to settle the score with her. This could kick off a feud that will see the two women squaring off in a big one-on-one match at WrestleMania 36.
