In what was another reasonable episode of SmackDown Live, WWE continued to advance the narrative for their next big PPV, the Elimination Chamber.
The show was star-studded with some of the biggest names on the blue brand making their presence known in the final stages of the show.
Considering that the WWE Championship match will be contested inside the barbaric Elimination Chamber, one wonders how will 'The New' Daniel Bryan manage to keep hold of his WWE Championship?
The women's division got the significance it deserved, with Becky Lynch once again opening the proceedings on the blue brand alongside a ruthless Charlotte Flair.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The creative team continued the focus on building Andrade 'Cien' Almas into the future of SmackDown Live. However, Shinsuke Nakamura's shocking loss to R-Truth broke the internet for all the wrong reasons, as the latter is now the United States Champion.
Regardless of everything that happened, and everything that is about to happen in the next few weeks, there are still a lot of things that WWE secretly tried to tell us vicariously through some of their segments and matches. What were they? Let's find out.
Here are the 5 biggest things WWE secretly told us on SmackDown Live.
#1 Charlotte Flair would insert herself in the main event by injuring Becky Lynch
We all knew that the WWE won't let Becky Lynch lock horns with Ronda Rousey at the Grandest Stage of Them All in a singles match.
Charlotte Flair has always been the top priority for the WWE, and while Lynch has earned her way to the top of the food chain, she won't enter in a fight with Rousey alone.
The Queen confronted The Man on the blue brand and went on to tell the WWE Universe that without her, Becky Lynch wouldn't have been the main event superstar she is today.
Considering that both the competitors share such an intense rivalry, the creative team is certainly planning an injury angle here which would cost Becky to participate in the main event of WrestleMania.
Since this would lead to someone filling her spot, it would be Charlotte who eventually joins this bout, making it a triple-threat match at the Show of Shows in New Jersey.
#2 Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev could face Shane McMahon and The Miz at WrestleMania 35 for the SmackDown Tag-Team Championships
In what could be termed as one of the most shocking moments of 2019, R-Truth defeated both Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev on the same night and walked out of Phoenix as your New United States Champion.
While the decision certainly fumed the fans, the creative team is now teasing a sort of alliance between Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev.
Both the competitors are probably two of the most underutilized in the business and if their segment with the Good Brothers was any indication, then they could be joining forces to run the tag-team division on the blue brand.
Since Shane McMahon and The Miz are certainly working as babyfaces and are sure to walk into MetLife Stadium with the gold, the King of Strong Style and the Bulgarian Brute could work as a compelling force against them.
#3 Andrade 'Cien' Almas vs. Rey Mysterio will be a very lengthy feud
Despite churning out classics with one another several times on the blue brand, Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Rey Mysterio are still continuing their feud.
The Mexican Sensation is certainly an underdog who can bring legitimate heat towards Andrade, with Zelina Vega also playing her part to perfection.
Considering that their in-ring chemistry is receiving tremendous adulation from all around the world, the creative team could be looking to make this feud even more lengthy.
Andrade's mocking of Eddie Guerrero was successful in garnering a negative reaction from the fans which only suggests that the WWE could be looking to bring more intrigue in the feud and make it more personal.
These two possess all the credentials in the world to bring the best out of one another and continuing their feud till WrestleMania 35 would be apt if they bring an element of intrigue.
#4 Daniel Bryan has some creative hold backstage on the blue brand
There's no denying that 'The New' Daniel Bryan is perhaps the most intelligent heels in the wrestling business, with the WWE Champion bringing an element of rejuvenation on the blue brand.
Daniel Bryan has been laser-focused on keeping the momentum on him and bringing intrigue to his character by portraying an eco-friendly villain on the main roster.
While the fans didn't expect this to go this far, it definitely seems like the WWE Champion has some hold in the creative decisions for his character on SmackDown Live.
The introduction of a New WWE Championship is incredible and would only propel Bryan's villainous role to heights unimaginable on the main roster.
Rowan's inclusion can also be taken in a positive light, with a possibility of Bryan bringing more henchmen on his side to rule the world.
#5 Samoa Joe is the most underutilized monster in the business
It's a damn shame that despite being one of the most talented competitors on the entire planet, Samoa Joe has remained underutilized on the main roster.
The Destroyer has earned a reputation of being a gruesome competitor on the independent circuits and while he was such a huge name in NXT, Joe hasn't done anything compelling on the main roster.
While his feuds with Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles received a lot of appreciation, it all ended with the opposition side pinning Joe out of the main event scene.
Considering that the company might not see him as a potential threat to the main roster, giving him a solid opportunity for once would justify how great he can be.
Since he will be locking horns with multiple superstars in the Elimination Chamber now, it would be an ideal time for WWE to push the envelope with the former NXT Champion and present him as a force to reckon with.
