The Royal Rumble 2005 ended with two back to back unscripted moments taking place. The original plan was for Batista to eliminate John Cena and win the whole thing. The ending was botched though and both Batista and Cena were eliminated together in the end.

The referees began arguing with each other with officials raising the hands of their respective brand's Superstars. Vince McMahon came strutting down to the ring with a visibly frustrated look on his face.
He rushed to the ring and immediately sat down as soon as he entered. What actually happened was that Vince McMahon tore both of his quads while rushing to the ring and thus had to immediately sit down as soon as he entered the squared circle.
The match was restarted and Batista won the free-for-all without a hitch this time around. As for Vince McMahon , he somehow managed to leave the spot without any kind of assistance, despite both of his quads being destroyed.
