There were several iconic and memorable WWE moments in 2024. Between rivalries, matches, and promos, it was an eventful year for the company. While the product of the company has definitely improved compared to previous years, nothing is ever perfect in professional wrestling.
Botches in wrestling are unavoidable, no matter how much wrestlers train for everything to go smoothly. Some moves don't land well, some fumble during promos, and more. However, some WWE Superstars unfortunately had more obvious botches, which had major effects on the matches and storylines they were involved in.
For this list, we will look at the five biggest botches in WWE this year.

#5. Tonga Loa's WWE beginning started with a late appearance
Tonga Loa has gained somewhat of a reputation for botching several key moments he has been involved in. A couple of notable moments include him failing a low blow against Kevin Owens at Money in the Bank 2024, and failing to pose properly with the Tag Team Championship on SmackDown.
However, his first ever botch actually came when he debuted. At this year's Backlash, he was supposed to pull the referee away to prevent Randy Orton and Kevin Owens from winning against Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, but The Bloodline member was late from slipping out from under the ring. Fortunately, the referee managed to pull himself out of the ring in the moment.
#4. Je'Von Evans botched his finish against Randy Orton
Several main roster stars visited NXT this year. Stars like Cody Rhodes, John Cena, and Paul Heyman visited the brand to cut simple promos or be involved in special segments, while Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill were even involved in a match. One of the stars who joined the latter group is Randy Orton.
On October 8, 2024, The Viper appeared on NXT and had a singles match against Je'Von Evans. The bout was exciting and going well until the finish, wherein Evans landed on the wrong spot which failed an iconic RKO spot. Still, Orton's quick thinking saved the finish and when all was said and done, Randy was quick to forgive the younger star.
#3. Damian Priest slipped at WWE Clash at the Castle
Damian Priest was one of the WWE Superstars who had a big 2024. He had a memorable cash-in at WrestleMania XL, had a memorable run as World Heavyweight Champion, and developed his singles character successfully after branching out from The Judgment Day. Still, he had a couple of mishaps this year.
At the 2024 Clash at the Castle PLE, during his match against Drew McIntyre, he was supposed to dive outside the ring but his foot was caught on the top rope, causing him to be tangled. Drew delivered a couple of kicks while the referee got him untangled.
#2. Damian Priest vs Seth Rollins almost had a different finish
At Money in the Bank 2024, Damian defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins. The match also saw Drew cashing in before being foiled by CM Punk. Priest ended up the winner, but a moment from the bout almost crowned a different champion.
At one point, The Visionary hit a Falcon Arrow on Priest and pinned him. Interestingly, Damian didn't kick out, but the referee stopped the count. As per the former Judgment Day member, it wasn't that he forgot to kick out but merely there was a "situation."
#1. Jade Cargill slipped on top of the rope during WWE Clash at the Castle
Unfortunately, Damian Priest wasn't the only person who experienced a mishap on the ropes at Clash at the Castle. Earlier that night, Jade Cargill experienced something similar.
The incident came during Jade and Bianca Belair's title defense against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark and The Unholy Union. When The EST of WWE tagged her partner, Cargill was supposed to perform a springboard, a move she had done perfectly before, but unfortunately slipped when doing so.
