Two German suplexes and an F5 later, Brock Lesnar, stood tall as the brand-new Universal Champion. The Beast Incarnate was the top superstar again, much to the dismay of the WWE Universe.

#1 Christian wins the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules 2011

It was an emotional time for Christian in 2011. Following WrestleMania, his best friend Edge was forced to retire due to injury. The Rated-R Superstar relinquished his World Heavyweight Championship.

Captain Charisma picked up the baton, and a Ladder Match was set for the now vacant World Heavyweight Title. Christian battled Alberto Del Rio for twenty-one minutes.

Even after interference from Ricardo Rodriguez and Brodus Clay, Christian climbed the steps and became a world champion for the first time. It was a moment to savor. The baton had firmly been placed in Christian's hands, and it was finally his time.
