In 2007, The Undertaker won the Royal Rumble for the first time in his career by eliminating Shawn Michaels. Soon after, The Deadman chose his opponent for WrestleMania. Batista, John Cena, and Bobby Lashley were their respective brands' World Champions at the time. The Phenom chose Batista and one of the greatest rivalries of all time kicked off.

At WrestleMania 23, Batista fell prey to The Undertaker, who won the World title after a hard-fought match. Batista still believed that he could put down The Undertaker and challenged him to a rematch at Backlash. The duo fought in a Last Man Standing match at the PPV. The bout ended in a draw when both Superstars failed to get up after Batista delivered a devastating Spear on The Undertaker off the stage.

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

Soon after, the duo wrestled again on SmackDown, this time inside a steel cage. The match ended in a draw when both competitors escaped the cage at the same time. Moments later, Mark Henry returned and attacked The Deadman. Following the attack, Edge cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase to win the title.
