Hardcore Holly lost to Eddie Guerrero in their only singles match
During the Ruthless Aggression Era, Eddie Guerrero was a part of the SmackDown Six, an elite group of wrestlers who turned the Blue brand into one of the most exciting shows on TV. Around this time, Hardcore Holly was a mainstay on SmackDown as well but never managed to become a big name. The duo didn't face off during their stint on SmackDown for years on end, but it all changed in early 2005 when they finally had a singles match.
Hardcore Holly, considered by many as the greatest Hardcore Champion in WWE history (having won the belt six times), didn't have luck on his side on this night. Eddie Guerrero had become a major Superstar on SmackDown at this point, and there was no way WWE was letting Holly beat him. Eddie scored a victory over Holly in what was their only singles match in the squared circle. Holly parted ways with WWE in early 2009, thus putting an end to his 15-year run as a WWE Superstar.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
