At the peak of the Attitude Era, Goldberg was one of the biggest Superstars in the industry. After WCW folded, Goldberg was one of the top stars who decided against making his way to WWE. It all changed two years later when Goldberg was signed to a WWE contract. He faced Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20, following which both wrestlers left the company.

Upon Goldberg's 2016 return, he faced Lesnar again at WrestleMania 33 in a losing effort. During Goldberg's first stint in WWE, he won the World title and had a dominant run on the RAW roster. In his second run with the company, he dominated Brock Lesnar as no one had in years, including a squash at Survivor Series 2016.
Yet, Goldberg never got a chance to headline The Show of Shows. A major reason why we never got to see him in this position was the fact that he spent the prime of his career in WCW, and has only competed in 2 WrestleMania events.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
