Before we get started with this entry, let’s just get one thing straight here: we’re big fans of mid-card titles.

The Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship are both worthy titles for any Superstar to hold, and for the most part, they serve as great enhancements for the careers of guys who aren’t quite ready to make the next step up to the main event scene.

Alas, they can be useful in more ways than one, and we’re going to borrow an idea from Austin Aries in TNA for this one.

In this scenario, a Superstar is desperate to try and break their way into the Money In The Bank ladder match. In fact, they’re so desperate, that they state they’ll put their own title on the line during the bout.

Then, even after winning the briefcase, the person in question surrenders their Championship in order to focus all of their attention on being a World Champion.
