#2 Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio

In late 2019, Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio had quite the underrated feud. If you remove the match with Cain Velasquez, the buildup to the impending match at Survivor Series was close to perfection. There was a perfect story to be told of a father defending his son, no matter the danger that lies ahead.

On the September 30th, 2019 episode of Raw, Brock Lesnar took out Rey Mysterio with an F5 and then proceeded to attack Rey Mysterio's son, Dominik, laying him out as well in the process. Rey Mysterio played the grizzled veteran in the perfect manner, as The Ultimate Underdog became more aggressive than ever before, using a metal pipe to temporarily tame The Beast, along with seeking vengeance for the multiple attacks on his son.

Throughout the match, it seemed that the WWE Champion was motivated. He was selling each shot from the Master of the 619, whether it was from a pipe, chair, punch, kick, or even a 619 itself. Right as the match was getting to be a really good one, Brock Lesnar caught Rey Mysterio in mid-air and pinned him with an F5.

However, the sequence with Rey and Dominik hitting a dual 619 and nearly pinning Lesnar, which was an excellent moment, but the match should have at least gone another five to ten minutes. If the match had gone much longer, there would have been no need for another rematch. For seven minutes, the match was fine, but many were expecting The Beast to have his third consectuve Survivor Series classic against a smaller opponent.

Ultimately, the match was not bad at all, but it was extremely short, and they should have been able to show off their chemistry, like they had in 2002 and 2003.

Since Rey Mysterio has not lost a step in the ring, rebooking a clash between The Biggest Little Man and Paul Heyman's client would be a smotth transition, and the WWE Universe will be invested.
