He was a jobber, but a decent mic worker

Cutting a good promo has always been an important part of WWE. To be a top guy in the industry, one should have the ability to interact and connect with the crowd.

Wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho have always had the best of both worlds - great in-ring skills and phenomenal talent on the microphone. However, some performers who have the natural ability to produce interesting, convincing promos and interviews, are mostly used to put other Superstars over.

Here we look at five such superstars who may not be number one on the roster, but indeed have the gift of gab.

#5 Bo Dallas

Just bo-lieve in him.
Just bo-lieve in him

Bo Dallas signed a developmental contract with WWE as an 18-year-old and has been with the company since then. He had a great heel run in NXT and even won the NXT Championship once.

After coming up on the main roster, his 'bo-lieve' gimmick became huge with the fans. The annoying yet entertaining gimmick was portrayed to perfection. Even as a part of 'The Social Outcasts', Dallas was always convincing and engaging. Despite getting over with the WWE Universe, WWE never handed him a proper push.

Bo Dallas has the prospects to be a big star in the wrestling industry, however, he is always seen jobbing to other Superstars. The youngest NXT Champion in WWE history deserves something better, doesn't he?

#4 R-Truth

What's up?
What's up?

R-Truth joined WWE (then WWF) in 1999 and became a two-time Hardcore Champion, before leaving in 2002. He returned to the company in 2008. Between 2010 and 2011, R-Truth headlined five WWE PPVs, three times in world title bouts. A former one time United States Champion and a one time Tag Team Champion, R-Truth was involved in numerous storylines, but none of them could help him reach the top. Eventually, he was dropped down to the lower mid-card and started getting used as a jobber.

R-Truth is arguably the most underrated mic worker in WWE today. His promos have a comedic element to them and are very well received by the WWE Universe. He is so charismatic and outgoing that once he put an imaginary character over with the fans, remember Little Jimmy? The guy is 46 years old but is still extremely athletic in the ring.

It's a shame that the Superstar who was supposed to be the next big thing in WWE has been reduced to a jobber, and not getting used to his potential.

#3 Fandango

One-half of the Fashion Police
One-half of the Fashion Police

Fandango joined WWE in 2006 and was assigned to Deep South Wrestling. He was also the winner of the fourth season of NXT. His first feud on the main roster was with Chris Jericho, whom he defeated at WrestleMania 29.

After being lost in the crowd for about two years, Fandango alongside fellow wrestler Tyler Breeze formed a tag-team, Breezango. The two are currently in SmackDown Live and are basically treated as jobbers.

Fandango was one of the most fan favourite wrestlers in his initial days, who had the crowd dancing to his music. His current gimmick as the Fashion Police is being loved by the WWE Universe. His mic skills are significantly great, and his ability to connect with the crowd is highly undervalued. He remains one of the roster’s most unsung talents. He has always been a unique character and a consistent entertainer.

#2 Heath Slater

He's got kids.
He's got kids!

Heath Slater is a 12-year veteran with WWE and is a four-time Tag Team Champion. He has always been a go-to guy for putting another talent over. He formed several teams and lost numerous feud and had many runs as a tag-team wrestler as a part of Nexus, Corre, 3MB, Social Outcasts, and Slater-Gator. However, every time he was made to look like a jobber.

Ever since Slater first debuted, he's been decisive on the mic. His promos are crisp and entertaining. His comic timing is noteworthy, and his work with legends for RAW 1000 was highly appreciated.

He might not be the best in-ring worker but makes up for it with his charisma and gimmicks. Slater needs a singles push because The One Man Band can be a solid mid-card babyface

#1 Karl Anderson

The Machine Gun
The Machine Gun

Karl Anderson made his debut in WWE in April 2016 as a part of The Club. He alongside Luke Gallows and created havoc in the tag-team division. It looked like there was a bright future for the two, but WWE failed to provide them with a push, and the duo is now relegated to the background as part of the Balor Club.

Anderson is not exactly a jobber but has been recently booked to look like one. During his time in New Japan, he was arguably the best mic worker in the promotion. His promos as a part of the Bullet Club were as good as anyone else's in the pro-wrestling business.

In WWE though, he is void of the attention he deserves. The creative should not waste any more time in harnessing the true potential of Karl Anderson.
