Shinsuke Nakamura should have won the WWE World Championship back in 2018 when he walked into WrestleMania as the Royal Rumble winner. Sadly, Nakamura was unable to dethrone AJ Styles and has been playing catch up ever since.
Much like Cesaro, Nakamura was taken under Sami Zayn's wing when he became The Liberator, and in the months that have followed, Nakamura has enjoyed more time oon WWE TV but became less relevant.

Now that Zayn's future is up in the air, it could be a good time for Nakamura to come out from under his wing and look at his own future on SmackDown.
The King of Strong Style is a former NXT Champion, he's someone who came to WWE with so much promise but has failed to deliver since being promoted to the main roster.
Nakamura isn't able to deliver promos because English isn't his native language, which means that he could use a manager by his side, but one that isn't also a wrestler on the same brand as him like Zayn.
