WWE Royal Rumble 2025 is the next premium live event on the schedule. The event typically takes place every year in January, but that will not be the case in 2025. The show will take place this year on February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The winners of the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble matches go on to challenge for a major title at WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes and Bayley won the matches last year and went on to become champions at The Show of Shows.
Listed below are five stars who need to be in the Royal Rumble this year.
#5. WWE RAW star Ludwig Kaiser needs to enter the Royal Rumble this year
Ludwig Kaiser is currently a member of Imperium alongside World Heavyweight Champion Gunther on WWE RAW and is involved in a personal rivalry with Sheamus. Both stars competed in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series 2024, but Bron Breakker emerged victorious to retain the title.
The Celtic Warrior suffered a rib injury during the match but recently returned and will be facing Kaiser next Monday night on RAW. Kaiser has the potential to be a major singles star and needs to have a good showing in the Men's Royal Rumble match this year to keep up his momentum.
#4. Giovanni Vinci should compete in the Royal Rumble
Giovanni Vinci used to be a member of Imperium with Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser. However, Kaiser brutally attacked him last year on WWE RAW, and he was booted out of the faction.
Vinci made the jump to SmackDown but has been booked as a joke on the blue brand so far. The veteran has not competed in a televised match since he was defeated by Apollo Crews on the September 20, 2024 edition of WWE SmackDown. Vinci should be a part of the Men's Royal Rumble and could set the record for quickest elimination.
#3. Logan Paul should be an entrant in the match this year
Logan Paul appeared on last night's episode of RAW and revealed that he was focused on being a WWE Superstar moving forward. The Maverick has not competed in a match since LA Knight captured the United States Championship from him at SummerSlam 2024.
Paul has the potential to be a major champion in the company and could take a step toward doing so by entering the Royal Rumble match this year. The 29-year-old has only wrestled 15 matches in his career but has proven to be a natural in the ring.
#2. Piper Niven should compete in the Women's Royal Rumble match
Piper Niven is currently aligned with Chelsea Green and the duo are former Women's Tag Team Champions. Green became the inaugural Women's United States Champion by defeating Mia Yim last month at Saturday Night's Main Event and celebrated with Niven in the ring after the match.
Niven is a very entertaining performer who has not been able to break out as a singles star yet on the main roster. However, if she made a bunch of eliminations during the Women's Royal Rumble match this year, more fans might start to get invested in seeing her succeed on WWE SmackDown.
#1. Mia Yim must enter the Women's Royal Rumble match
Mia Yim (Michin) was impressive in the Women's United States Championship tournament but fell short in the finals against Chelsea Green. However, she quickly bounced back on WWE SmackDown and defeated Piper Niven in a singles match this past Friday night.
Yim was released by the promotion in 2021 but made her return the following year. The veteran has never captured a singles title during her time in the promotion so far. Yim could potentially get the fans on her side over the next few weeks and be a fan favorite heading into the Women's Royal Rumble match in February.
