The Royal Rumble match is one of the most entertaining matches in WWE. This one-of-its-kind in-ring battle has a long history that boasts of several records created over the years. From Superstars who have spent the most time inside the ring to those who have most eliminations in a single match, there are a lot of accomplishments that commands respect from the fans.
On the other end of the spectrum, there are also a few records that WWE Superstars might not want to remember. There have been times when the top names were eliminated from the prestigious Royal Rumble match faster than Brock Lesnar ended Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship reign.
In this article, we will take a look at five current WWE Superstars who were eliminated from a Royal Rumble match in less than 10 seconds. It should be noted that two former world champions were eliminated in less time than what you took to finish reading this introduction. So, without further ado, let’s begin.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 John Morrison (9 seconds) - WWE Royal Rumble 2020
The first entry in this list features from last year’s Royal Rumble. The event saw a dominant display from Brock Lesnar until Drew McIntyre walked into the ring and eliminated The Beast Incarnate. Before that, Lesnar managed to eliminate a total of 13 Superstars from the match which accounted for two big records in WWE’s history.
But Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre were not the only highlights of the match. John Morrison got a Royal Rumble record etched for himself, albeit it might not be the one he boasts about. Morrison entered the ring at No. 5 and was almost immediately thrown out Brock Lesnar. The latter took a total of nine seconds to eliminate Morrison.
There was not enough time for anyone to see Morrison do something inside the ring during this Royal Rumble match. Everything happened way too quickly for anyone to realize that yet another Royal Rumble record has been created. Following the pay-per-view, Morrison continued his partnership with The Miz, and the duo have had fun across RAW and SmackDown.
Currently, John Morrison spends most of his time alongside Miz. He recently cashed-in his tag team partner’s Money in the Bank contract, but Miz got it back on a technicality. He is expected to back Miz at Royal Rumble 2021 as The A-Lister intends to cash-in his contract during the WWE Championship match between McIntyre and Goldberg at the pay-per-view.
#4 The Miz (7 seconds) - WWE Royal Rumble 2007
The Miz is the next Superstar in the list of those eliminated from a Royal Rumble match in less than 10 seconds. This was back in 2007 when The Undertaker picked his first and only Royal Rumble victory. In the process, The Undertaker also became the first-ever WWE Superstar to enter at No. 30 and win the match.
However, right before him, it was The Miz who entered the Royal Rumble bout. Seven seconds after he got inside the ring, Miz was eliminated by The Great Khali. The entire interaction was not that shocking given the difference in the stature of both these Superstars. Soon after that, Khali himself was eliminated by ‘Taker who eventually stood tall.
Fast forward to 2021; Miz has plans of his own for the Royal Rumble event. He has earned a lot of respect in the meantime and has an incredible resume to show off. Miz is eyeing an opportunity to cash-in his MITB contract, and he could walk out of Royal Rumble with the WWE Championship. After all, he would like to have a couple of good moments associated with the pay-per-view to make up for the one we discussed.
#3 Titus O’Neil (4 seconds) - WWE Royal Rumble 2015
Titus O’ Neil has not one but two shortest eliminations from WWE Royal Rumble to his name. Back in 2015, he was the 26th Superstar to enter the ring and was eliminated in four seconds. The former tag team champion could barely throw a punch or land a kick before being sent over the top rope by Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
Four years later, Titus O’Neil entered the 2019 edition of the Royal Rumble match and was eliminated in five seconds. In the previous year, he ended up slipping during his entrance in the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble match and went straight under the ring, giving us one of the most memorable moments in history.
Since then, Titus O’Neil has carved a different niche for himself as he is now WWE’s ambassador for their various humanitarian projects across all fields. He is appreciated by his peers and admired by the backstage staff for everything he does for the company. Although he has a few Royal Rumble moments that he would like to forget, there is a lot more to this WWE Superstar that makes him one of the most lovable people in the promotion.
#2 Xavier Woods (3 seconds) - WWE Royal Rumble 2019
Xavier Woods has a lot of accomplishments to his name, but he might not be very fond of the 2019 Royal Rumble match. The multi-time tag team champion spent barely three seconds inside the ring before he was tossed over the top rope by Drew McIntyre. His elimination came as a shock because fans always expect a lot more from The New Day members - the most decorated stable in the history of WWE.
Woods entered the Royal Rumble match at No. 17 right after Drew McIntyre. Once the next countdown began, The Scottish Psychopath immediately turned his attention towards Woods. The latter got no opportunity to make an impact as he was immediately eliminated after stepping inside the ring.
Woods has since enjoyed a comfortable run in WWE. He had to take some time off the television after sustaining an injury, but he came back stronger than ever. He is currently feuding with RETRIBUTION in the absence of his tag team partner Kofi Kingston and will look to make an impact during this year’s Royal Rumble match.
#1 Sheamus (2 seconds) - WWE Royal Rumble 2018
Sheamus is the second former world champion in our list of Superstars with a dreadful Royal Rumble record to their name. Back in the 2018 edition of Royal Rumble, Sheamus was eliminated from the match in two seconds which is the lowest time spent inside the ring by any of the current Superstars in the promotion.
In the match, Sheamus entered at No. 11 and immediately got involved with Heath Slater. The latter wasted in no time in pushing Sheamus over the top rope and ended the former champion’s hopes in two seconds. Slater was the next to be eliminated in the match as Bray Wyatt took advantage of the distraction.
Currently, Sheamus is enjoying a great run on WWE RAW and is a close ally of Drew McIntyre. He is expected to maintain this momentum, and he is an important part of the title picture on the Red brand. Sheamus will look forward to an impactful performance at Royal Rumble 2021, especially if it can compensate for the record mentioned above.
