Roman Reigns is currently WWE Universal Champion

Currently, Roman Reigns is the reigning WWE Universal Champion after winning the title from 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt at Payback. The Big Dog is now in his second reign with the title. Before this, Reigns has enjoyed multiple championship wins.

Most notably, Roman Reigns has been a three-time WWE Champion. He won the title for the first time at Survivor Series 2015, defeating Dean Ambrose. However, this reign was very short-lived as Sheamus cashed in his Money in the Bank contract later that night, ending Roman Reigns first time as WWE Champion at a mere five minutes.

Just weeks later, Roman Reigns contended again for the WWE Championship on an episode of RAW. Reigns took on Sheamus in a title versus career match, which Reigns managed to win, despite interferences from Vince McMahon, Rusev, and Del Rio.

Reign's second time as WWE Champion lasted longer at 41 days. It ended when his title was put on the line in the 2016 Royal Rumble match. Triple H eliminated Roman Reigns before winning the entire match to become the new champion.

Roman Reigns third win of the WWE Championship came at WrestleMania 32. This was the longest reign that Reigns had with the title, which lasted 77 until the belt was dropped to Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank - quickly followed by Dean Ambrose winning the title from Rollins after cashing in his contract.
