WrestleMania 38 will once again be a two-night event, a tradition WWE started in 2020. It spaces out the matches and allows two contests to close out separate nights of the event.
The easiest way to main event WM is to win the Royal Rumble. However, it's not the only way to main event WrestleMania. The winners of the Royal Rumble should indeed close each night of the pay-per-view. Bianca Belair and Edge did so last year, but that hasn't always been the case.

Charlotte Flair won the Royal Rumble in 2020 but didn't main event either night. She chose the NXT Championship instead since she has consistently defeated every female star in the company.
Rollins won the Rumble in 2019 and didn't close WM 35. If Owens or Rollins don't win the 2022 Royal Rumble, one or both could earn title shots at the event. The Elimination Chamber should provide a challenger for the title that isn't picked by the Rumble winner. Rollins and/or Owens might win that right.
