#1 The Miz and John Morrison feud over the briefcase
If The Miz or John Morrison, or both, win the Money in the Bank briefcase from Otis, this is very possible. Either one of these two Superstars could feasibly win a world title in WWE, at least once Roman Reigns is no longer the Universal Champion. The company should use this opportunity to elevate Miz and Morrison, while Otis isn't really harmed if he loses the briefcase.
Their role on SmackDown is hardly flattering and they have so much more to offer, either as partners or as rivals. Once The Miz gets serious again, he can become one of the best characters on SmackDown. His eventual feud with Morrison could be a late-2020 success story, especially if the briefcase is up for grabs. Either of them would benefit from winning Money in the Bank.
Otis has had his fun by using the briefcase as a lunchbox, but WWE should use it to split the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions up and create stars out of them. Both Miz and Morrison can do great things on their own and have had solid careers as singles stars.
Imagine the heel heat The Miz could get if he ruins a possible Big E Universal Championship victory, by cashing in on him immediately after he wins it. Similarly, John Morrison could use the Money in the Bank briefcase to finally win a world title in WWE. It would be quite the story.
Money in the Bank has suffered quite the hit in its effectiveness over the years, with a couple of failed cash-ins recently and Brock Lesnar's infuriating victory last year. WWE could end the rut by switching the briefcase from Otis to either The Miz or John Morrison.
