#2 Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt
The 2016 Royal Rumble appeared to be the dawning of a WrestleMania feud between Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt. Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and Braun Strowman were all eliminated by Lesnar in the namesake match before they returned the favor to the Beast Incarnate.
The Royal Rumble has long been used as a device to seed rivalries for WrestleMania, and the extended interaction between the faction and Brock Lesnar led fans to believe that we were going to see Wyatt vs Lesnar at the Show of Shows.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Instead, Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt faced Brock Lesnar in a handicap match, where Bray Wyatt sat outside and observed as Brock destroyed Harper. If they had their match at WrestleMania, then you would be forgiven for seeing Wyatt's lack of involvement in the match as saving their collision for Mania.
Alas, trajectories changed and Brock Lesnar took on Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) in a street fight. Bray Wyatt, on the other hand, had no prior announced involvement in the marquee event.
Bray Wyatt and co. instead came out to confront The Rock during his attendance announcement, where Erick Rowan subsequently suffered a six-second loss to the Brahma Bull.
Fans have to wonder what could have been if Brock Lesnar had indeed gone against Bray Wyatt. This is especially the case when you consider the underwhelming nature of Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose and the sickening impact that such a loss does to a character like Bray Wyatt.
Bray Wyatt has since gone through a tumultuous time, reinventing himself as The Fiend and achieving world title success in between devastating losses before his eventual release from WWE.
Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt remains a dream match, especially for The Fiend character. The history between the two and the element of what could have been adds a further dimension to the fantasy.
#1 Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier
Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier has been a fight that has been mooted for a while now. We came closest to seeing the dream fight when Brock Lesnar confronted DC after his UFC Heavyweight title win against Stipe Miocic.
Cormier called Brock out and the Beast Incarnate entered the Octagon to push the champion and accept the challenge. Their confrontation sparked a massive fan debate as to whether or not their collision would be inside the Octagon or the Squared Circle, for the UFC Heavyweight title or for the Universal title.
Part of what added to the excitement for the clash was Brock Lesnar's fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200, which occurred even while Lesnar was under contract with WWE. Over three years later, and we are yet to see anything materialize.
Daniel Cormier has been linked with WWE since his retirement from MMA, owing to his passionate fandom of professional wrestling, and will always be a dream collision for the Beast Incarnate.
Even though WWE is a potential venue for their clash, we have seen an evolving independent scene give birth to alternatives like AEW who could stage a dream clash. New Japan Pro Wrestling is stylised as a predominantly sports product and as such a perfect alternative.
But if we are being truly honest with ourselves, the venue to perfect the dream clash sits outside professional wrestling altogether, in the UFC. Their clash would serve as the perfect last dance for wrestling/MMA legend Brock Lesnar in the Octagon, or a perfect first for Daniel Cormier in the Squared Circle.
