Shawn Michaels came out of retirement after 8 years to be a part of this match. The reason we never got to see this match before is that Kane (the character) arrived in WWE in 1997 and feuded with The Undertaker for a while. Shawn Michaels, on the other hand, almost retired in 1998 due to his back problems and didn't compete in a match for over 4 years.
The match was quite slow to be honest. The performances of The Undertaker and Kane were criticized. Triple H got injured soon after the match began. Shawn Michaels, who was competing in his first match since Wrestlemania 26, proved that he can still wrestle.

His performance was quite decent. Although the match will not go down in history as a masterpiece, the nostalgia factor associated with it made it a big deal and it will surely be remembered for years to come.

His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
