As mentioned, if the GM Mode were to return, we could have a version that sees the player take the route of elevating the game with NXT and trying to build the brand and its superstars from the ground up, each time it's raided by the main roster. This could also be narrative fuel for a story between NXT and WWE (main roster).
Rumors swirled a month or so ago of WWE looking to do an NXT invasion story. It'd be the first time that WWE really did a year-long story affecting the roster, since the highs of the Authority angle. It'd give players the chance to book a variety of unbelievable dream matches through the calendar year, with high stakes.
Just imagine ten man NXT vs. WWE tag matches at Survivor Series or a Wrestlemania main event for the WWE/Universal and NXT Championship between say a Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. One can already see the mouths of fans salivating at this prospect. Players would live the dream before seeing it and considering WWE's booking, it would probably be better.
