#1 Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

As mentioned earlier, Kevin Owens really needs to be elevated on SmackDown following his move during the WWE Draft. A Universal Championship program would be exciting, but what will truly satisfy the fans is the next chapter in KO's never-ending story with Sami Zayn. WWE, once again, has the perfect opportunity to showcase their brilliance alongside each other.
Zayn is the current Intercontinental Champion, having won the title he never lost in an excellent triple threat Ladder Match against AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy at Clash of Champions. He is at his best on the WWE main roster right now, serving as an annoying heel on SmackDown.

The Great Liberator is also back to his best in the ring, after spending much of the past year, including his first IC Title reign, as a "manager". It will be extremely intriguing to see the dynamic between Zayn, as a heel, and Owens, as a babyface. They seem as comfortable in their current roles as they were in the initial alignments of their feud.
That is why WWE must book a proper feud between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship. Their chemistry is undeniable, whether as partners or as rivals, meaning the fans would be guaranteed to a couple of 'Match of the Year' contenders.
This would continue the renaissance of sorts for Intercontinental Championship, with its reputation of being the "workhorse title" being lived up to. Owens and Zayn have been linked together on WWE TV every year since they were both signed to the company. Whether as partners or enemies, they will never truly quit being in the business of each other.
They should continue to fight forever.
