The upcoming SNME will mark the second time Cody Rhodes will appear at the show, the first being in 2008 when he teamed up with JBL, Kane, and Ted DiBiase against Batista, Cryme Tyme, and John Cena. However, this wasn't the earliest a Rhodes family member was at the show.

Dusty Rhodes competed at SNME three times in the past, the first being in 1989 for the 24th edition, followed by 1990 for the 25th edition, and the third in 1990 again for the 28th edition.

#4. The upcoming WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will be the 37th edition

Newer wrestling fans may not be aware of SNME due to how long the company shelved it, but longtime wrestling fans know that it has been around for a while, with the very first one taking place in the 80s.

The original run lasted from 1985 to 1992, which had 31 shows. Its revived run took place from 2006 until 2008 and had five shows, the upcoming show will be the 37th installment.

The 2024 edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will take place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. However, this isn't the first time the company has held a special episode in this arena.

The very first SNME took place in the same arena on May 10, 1985. The matches at that event featured a six-man tag team match between The US Express and Ricky Steamboat vs Nikolai Volkoff, The Iron Sheik, and George Steele. Hulk Hogan vs. Bob Orton, Wendi Richter vs. The Fabulous Moolah, and Junkyard Dog vs. Pete Doherty were also on the card.

#2. Hulk Hogan holds a special record at SNME

With 36 shows to its name, many superstars have appeared on Saturday Night's Main Event. However, Hulk Hogan holds the record for the most appearances on the show with 25.

The Hulkster last appeared at the 30th edition of the event in 1992, when he teamed up with Sid Justice against Ric Flair and The Undertaker.

#1. The World Champions of the company have a rich history at the event

The WWE Championship has been defended 20 times at Saturday Night's Main Event over the past 36 shows. Cody Rhodes' upcoming title defense will mark the 21st time it will be defended.

However, despite being defended 20 times already, the World Championship has never changed hands at Saturday Night's Main Event. It remains to be seen if The American Nightmare will continue this record or break it.
