WWE Ride Along has become one of the most popular shows on the WWE Network over the past few years and has seen superstars able to open up and talk about their lives outside of WWE.
The show follows superstars as they drive from one state to another ahead of their next live show and sees them share stories about their career with whoever is in the car with them.
This week's episode followed married couple Rusev and Lana as they made the journey from Springfield, Massachusetts to Providence, Rhode Island where the following night's SmackDown Live would take place and the couple shared a number of fascinating stories and facts along the way.
#5. Lana is afraid of Snakes
Lana has been around WWE now for almost four years and as well as performing as both a manager and superstar on WWE TV she has also been part of Total Divas for the past few years.
Despite this, it seems that Lana has never revealed what her biggest fear is. She was finally able to do this on Ride Along this week as she played a game with Rusev called The Matchka Game where Rusev had to guess things about his wife.
He easily guessed that snakes were her biggest fear, but sadly wasn't able to get any of the other answers correct, which meant that he lost and didn't get the new trainers that Lana promised him if he managed to win.
#4. Rusev doesn't enjoy watching Lana wrestle
Rusev stated that he gets nervous when he watches Lana wrestle because he's scared that she's going to get hurt when all he wants to do is help her but in reality, it's a situation that he can't control.
Lana herself admitted that she gets nervous before her matches but as soon as she walks through the curtain she realises that she loves her job and the nerves disappear. Lana asked Rusev if he ever got nervous before his matches and it seems that The Bulgarian Brute isn't affected by the usual butterflies that many other stars get ahead of huge career-changing moments.
#3. Rusev once mowed the lawn in just a speedo
One of the strangest stories that Lana and Rusev shared during their drive was about the time that Rusev decided to mow the lawn in speedos. Lana stated that many of her neighbours actually came to her and complained because they felt that it was a little inappropriate since he was doing it in full view of his street.
Many of the neighbours were worried because their children could see a grown man mowing a lawn in his underwear but Rusev stated that he wasn't actually doing anything illegal and if they didn't like it then they could just move house.
Lana attempted to defend him by stating that Rusev could do something like this in his country without them batting an eyelid, but it seems that this wasn't a good enough reason for him to be outside in such a lack of clothing in the middle of the day.
#2. Lana wants Rusev to manage her
Lana talked about the fact that she wishes that one day she wants Rusev to manage her because she thought that it would be great for Rusev to take her position at ringside and be the one shouting "Lana Matchka" so that she could then lock in The Accolade and get the win. She thought that this was something that the crowd would go absolutely crazy for.
She said that she was going to write it in her manifestation notebook and on her manifestation board because she hopes that one day it becomes a reality. Maybe in a few years down the line when Rusev's career is calming down and he's able to then work with his wife like how she once worked with him.
#1. Rusev hated John Cena for many years
Rusev admitted that he went to a show in San Diego a few years ago when he was still just a fan and he saw John Cena. He said he was just leaving as Cena pulled into the same place and he started shouting and waving to him, for Cena to just respond with a wave and nod of his own.
Rusev said that he thought that this was John Cena looking down on him and for years he absolutely hated him for it. It was only when he met him as a wrestler that he realised that Cena was actually being polite and saying "hey" back to him.
It seems that the epic Rusev/John Cena feud that ended Rusev's undefeated streak back in 2015 actually began years before it was ever televised.
