#3 He has been in three Champion vs Champion matches on PPV and lost all three
John Cena's steel-like grip on the main event of WWE lasted for almost two decades, which means that he has been able to battle some of the biggest stars to come through the company in the past. Cena has got himself a reputation where many fans believed that he was holding other wrestlers down and stopping many from reaching their potential because of the story regarding Alex Riley, but this isn't the case.
John Cena has made history in some unfortunate ways over the years, and one of them would be the fact that he has been in the most Champion vs Champion matches with three, and he has lost all of them.
Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently
The first one came against one of his best-known rivals in Randy Orton back at TLC in 2013, when Orton was able to unify the WWE and World Championships with his victory. Kevin Owens took on Cena in another Champion vs Champion match at Elimination Chamber back in 2015, where it was Owens who was the shock victor.
Interestingly, the final one came merely months later at SummerSlam in 2015 when Seth Rollins put his World Championship on the line and Cena put his United States Championship on the line, but it was Rollins who came out with both.
