One of the matches on the pre-show was for the Women's Tag Team title, where newly-crowned Women's Tag Team champions, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won the titles on the SummerSlam go-home show of RAW, winning a four-way elimination tag team match.

The new champs defended their title at SummerSlam against former champions, The IIconics, and they got the win after Bliss landed the Twisted Bliss on Billie Kay to successfully defend their titles for the first time.

WWE teased a possible face turn for the current Women's Tag Team champions, which was evident in Corey Graves' commentary, who usually supports the heels but wasn't praising Bliss and Cross during the match at SummerSlam.
This could have been a one-off as both teams have been heels lately, but this could also be a hint that Bliss and Cross could be babyface champions on WWE television.
