Drew McIntyre has indeed come a long way. Following the disappointment of his initial run in the WWE, The Chosen One has gone on to fulfill the prophecy. McIntyre has had a phenomenal 2020 so far and he's capped off his recent string of successes with a resounding win over Brock Lesnar.
Seth Rollins, on the other hand, suffered a loss at the hands of Kevin Owens in a match that definitely had the best spot – KO jumping off the WrestleMania logo onto the announce table – in the entire show. However, this does not take away Rollins' credibility. It only means that he's ready for a fresh start and there's no better way to shake things up than a run at the WWE title.
McIntyre has a lot of momentum right now and for him to maintain that, he must immediately get into back-and-forths with the best in the business else he runs the risk of fizzling out. And there's no one better than the Monday Night Messiah himself. This matchup will also maintain the heel vs face dynamic and keep the WWE Universe hooked.
