At SummerSlam, Kevin Owens put his WWE career on the line against Shane McMahon, and came out victorious, which ensured that he was still in the company.

Owens had it all against him as Shane added Elias as the special guest enforcer for the match, who almost caused Owens the match by interfering. But Owens prevailed and kept his job, as well as possibly a new feud with old ally, Elias.

Elias and Owens have previously been on the same team when the latter was a heel on RAW, but things have changed over the last few months. Elias has been in and around feuds between top Superstars on RAW and SmackDown in the last year, and it looks like WWE has big plans for the 31-year-old Superstar.
We could possibly see Elias and Owens feud on SmackDown over the next few weeks, which could eventually lead to a match at next month's Clash of Champions PPV. Both Superstars deserve a run at a mid-card title like the Intercontinental Championship, and we could perhaps see one of the two winning the title from Shinsuke Nakamura, which would make this potential feud even more interesting.
