No rivalry in the history of NXT was more heated and impressive than Balor v Joe. Initially paired with each other in NXT, even managing to win the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament, the two then spent the next 6 months feuding over the NXT championship in what can be regarded as the best rivalry in NXT.

Now, with both the superstars on the Red Brand, it would be a perfect idea to have them reignite their feud once Joe returns to action.

Balor is expected to face The Miz at Wrestlemania and win the Intercontinental Title at the Grand Spectacle. Joe, on the other hand, is expected to return right after Wrestlemania. A feud between two top superstars, with the Intercontinental Title as the focal point, will not only help in maintaining the legitimacy of the Title, but also provide some meaningful storyline to both Balor and Joe.
