#3 Would CM Punk's arrival in AEW be a "better late than never" scenario?
Ever since the announcement that AEW was actually happening, there has been one name that has been continually brought up almost ad nauseam. That man is none other than Chicago's own, the CM Punk.
Due to his long-time friendship with the Young Bucks, Matt, and Nick Jackson, every time the company has done something in Chicago his name has come up. Even before the company's existence, Punk's name was brought up constantly going into the All In event back in September of 2018.
But every time his name has been rumored to appear, it hasn't happened. Throughout the course of this year, the rumors linking Punk to AEW have seemingly died down. So one could argue that there isn't a better time than right now for AEW to sign CM Punk.
Punk, who is only 42 years old, hasn't wrestled a match since the 2014 WWE Royal Rumble in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While he has done a few MMA bouts since then his body should arguably be more healthy now than it has been in a very long time.
The million-dollar question with Punk is always the same though. Is he interested? Is it possible his time working on the show, WWE Backstage, was enough to spark his passion again for the industry he used to love?
While it is clearly evident that he doesn't want anything to do with his former employer, one could argue to Punk that he still has a lot to give to the wrestling business elsewhere.
While there is a legion of CM Punk fans out there that have never given up on seeing him return, there are others who think he will never step inside a wrestling ring again. While it is easy to see both sides of that coin it is ultimately his decision, so is it time for the Voice Of The Voiceless to shock the wrestling world again?
