#2. John Cena vs. CM Punk - WWE Money In The Bank 2011
John Cena's classic match against CM Punk is considered one of the most impactful WWE matches in recent years
The storyline behind this match was fantastic, as well. WWE used CM Punk's real-life contract negotiations as a storyline in this feud. Punk's contract was set to expire the day after Money in the Bank 2011.
The Voice of the Voiceless was scheduled to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at the event. In the weeks leading up to the match, Punk made it clear that he planned to walk away from the company with the title.
Because the stakes were high, Vince McMahon wanted to make sure that Punk lost. So, John Laurinaitis tried to interfere in the match, but, John Cena refused to take part in this treachery and attacked Laurinaitis. Punk took advantage of this distraction, hit Cena with the GTS, and pinned him to win the WWE Championship.
It was a classic match because of the in-ring work but outstanding storytelling. Punk left the arena with the championship and blew a kiss to a red-faced McMahon.
