Roswell, New World Order, Montreal Screwjob.

Those tales are as old as time and still being talked about in the modern era.

In a high-stakes match in the 1997 Survivor Series that featured erstwhile champion Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Shawn Michaels, the referee rang the bell and ruled that the former had tapped out from the Sharpshooter maneuver thus resulting into one of ugliest ways for the WWE Championship to change hands.

Prior to the match, Hart's contract with WWE was already expiring but the Calgary, Alberta native did not want to lose the belt in front of his countrymen. Unfortunately, WWE had other things going in their mind.

Although Hart and the company have already decided to bury the hatchet, the eventful pay-per-view still leaves the WWE Universe in utter disbelief to this day and has been subject to a number of conspiracy theories.
