When Asuka debuted in the WWE in NXT in 2015, few could have expected what would happen.
As many predicted, the Japanese star won her first match, and the next few after that, but as days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, a trend was beginning to emerge. It didn't take long for the undefeated star to capture gold, winning the NXT Women's Title in 2016, and only surrendering the gold in late-2017 because she had beaten everyone.
After joining the main roster, it would be several months until Asuka's eventual loss came at the hands of Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.
Though she may not hold gold at the moment, don't be surprised if the Empress takes her spot back on top of the WWE Women's division very soon.
