Ali is one of the most gifted performers in the ring, but somehow especially on TV, there is always something missing in his gimmick. He is such a good guy in his online avatar that it will be a genuine shock indeed if the man were to go heel and embrace his dark side.
I've been on a WWE Conference Call with the man in the past where people were addressing the fact that he's such a positive influence for the WWE Universe and was subsequently asked if he'd be willing to go heel, to which he responded by saying that indeed he would. It's only a character after all, and he would have no hesitation in playing the role.
Just imagine how surprising it would be for the WWE Universe if the members of Team Hogan were on the verge of picking up a big win, when suddenly, out of the blue, Ali turns on his own teammates allowing Team Flair to pick up the win. WWE has a tendency to book their heels better than they book their babyfaces, so this could be just the boost the man needs.
Heel Ali would be money.
