The element of blood is used to heighten the drama in a pro-wrestling match. While it is rare to see blood in today's PG era of WWE, but still from time to time one or the other top superstars are seen bleeding during their matches or segments.

Historically, wrestlers have been using blading to achieve this purpose by cutting themselves open with the help of a hidden blade, but in recent years another new alternative to blading has been developed - blood capsules.
