Considering the rivalry over the WWE Universal Championship is as intense as it gets, only a Superstar of Kevin Owens' stature and talents can infuse humor into the proceedings. It's not at all easy to convey the right amount of animosity while also providing moments like these.
It makes the character more relatable, as nobody would always be shouting and screaming in real life. A dose of humor always helps in gulping down the difficult moments.
Owens made quite a funny yet serious threat to Roman Reigns when he said that he would take the help of his friends to end the reign of The Tribal Chief. Taking shots at Reigns for including his family in their rivalry, Owens said that his family isn't a part of the wrestling business, but his friends are. He then went on to list those friends one by one, and these were tables, ladders, and chairs.
No matter who comes up as the winner in their clash at WWE TLC, Owens certainly deserves praise for bringing some much-needed humor in this emotionally-heavy rivalry.
