#4 WWE Championship match at Backlash

While it is understandable that WWE would want to get as much out of the feud between Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles that they can, they have made mistake after mistaken trying to do so. in fact, it almost looks like WWE is hesitant for one reason or another to have Nakamura touch title gold at all.
Whether that is true or not remains to be seen and will no doubt be interesting to speculate on, but the fact remains that WWE screwed fans over with a DQ finish at Greatest Royal Rumble and then followed it up with one of the most screwy finishes possible at The Backlash pay per view.
Of course, Nakamura has one more chance to claim title gold at Money in The Bank in a last man standing match, but the finish between him and Aj Styles at Backlash was completely unoriginal. Not only that, it also seemed to do more to stall the feud than to give it another layer to move forward with.
In the end, both Styles and Nakamura hit each other with a low blow, which left both superstars unable to answer at ten count by the referee and forced WWE to rule it a no contest. Unfortunately for the WWE, that decision didn't sit well with fans that were hoping to see a more logical progression to the storyline, but were screwed over instead.
With that being said, and the upcoming last standing match in mind, maybe WWE will pull off the surprise of the century and set things right in the final match by finally giving Nakamura a run with the big belt. Either that, or find some way for AJ Styles to once again retain the title and move Nakamura back to mid card obscurity.
