The finish to the 2005 Royal Rumble Match remains one of the most memorable moments that happened during a WWE pay-per-view. John Cena and Batista were the final two in the bout, with The Animal planned to go over and win the marquee match. However, what happened next (and beyond) was not planned at all.

Batista and Cena somehow eliminated each other, landed on the floor at the same time. This prompted Vince McMahon to furiously storm to the ring while WWE referees improvised on the spot. However, the true insanity of this moment came when McMahon entered the ring to deal with the situation.

He tore both of his quads in the process and was unable to stand. The WWE Chairman was seated in the ring and screamed orders for the match to be restarted. Following these surreal events, Batista eliminated John Cena to win the Royal Rumble Match.

This botch had so many parts to it, from both Superstars getting eliminated at the same time to Vince McMahon injuring himself. It was pretty impressive in a way and remains iconic. Seeing the WWE owner attempt to shrug his off injury and bark out orders was a sight to behold as well.
