It has been well over five years since we last saw CM Punk in WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2014. Still, to this date, fans keep chanting his names at random wrestling shows, waiting for the Straight Edge Superstar to make a return.

Ever since the announcement of AEW, the talks of Punk making a pro-wrestling return with the company have taken over the internet. The same got fueled when the company decided to have All Out in Chicago, Punk's hometown. Combine this with some similarities in All Out's logo with that of Punk, and the speculations of this being the returning show for Punk started doing rounds.

While Punk himself stated in his interview at Starrcast that he will be with his wife AJ Lee and won't be at All Out, fans were still expecting this to be a swerve. Well, it was not one as Punk was not there.

It is safe to assume that Punk has no plans of joining AEW because this was the ideal time for him to do so if he wanted. The return of CM Punk will surely break the hell loose, but the chances of that happening are diminishing fastly.
