The Rock made his long-awaited return to WWE on the road to WrestleMania 27. The Brahma Bull announced that he will be the host of WrestleMania, to a thunderous response. The Rock had been away from WWE for around seven years at that point. At WrestleMania, The Rock opened the show to pump up the crowd and was responsible for John Cena losing the main event WWE title match against The Miz.
What fans also remember from the historic night is a backstage confrontation The Rock had with a certain WWE Hall of Famer. The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the biggest rivalries in WWE history, and the duo has competed in three WrestleMania matches. Watching these two legends together in any capacity was something the fans had been clamoring for a long time. Austin was at WrestleMania to officiate the match between Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole and this aligning of the stars made it possible for this rare confrontation to take place.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
