Sami Zayn suffered a shoulder injury during his match with Bobby Lashley at Money In The Bank last year. The diagnosis revealed that his other shoulder needed repairing as well. It was later found out that Sami had been carrying one of the injuries for almost the past decade, without realizing it. He had to undergo immediate surgery on both of his shoulder rotator cuffs.

Sami Zayn is a 34-year-old pro-wrestler from Canada. He started his professional career in the year 2002. He, later on, joined the WWE in 2013. Till now he has won one NXT Championship and a Slammy Award at WWE.

WWE ran an advertisement last December promoting Sami Zayn’s return to the WWE. Sami Zayn was also spotted at the WWE Performance Centre at Orlando, Florida preparing for his return to the WWE. He hasn’t been in a match since June 17. The official date of his return has not been announced by the WWE yet, however, it's going to be post WestleMania 35.
