#1 Michael Cole has now commentated in four different decades
The Royal Rumble match may have created some interesting statistics last night, but it appears that the stars in the ring were not the only ones to make history. Michael Cole was at ringside to call the action as usual and created quite an impressive statistic by being a part of the show.
Michael Cole was signed by WWE back in 1997 but was originally a backstage interviewer before he was moved over to SmackDown when the show made its debut as a TV series in 1999. Michael Cole has since become one of WWE's longest-tenured employees to the point now where he is much more than just a commentator and often helps with creative control within the company as well.
During his time in WWE, Cole has commentated alongside several different stars including Jim Ross, Tazz, JBL, Jerry Lawler and Corey Graves. He's the only man to have the impressive statistic of commentating for WWE in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and now the 2020s.
