#5 Never has the US title been defended at MITB PPV
This seems rather more logical than surprising. The only reason for this could be that the guy who holds the US title, is generally someone from the mid-card, with the exception being John Cena of course.
There always lies a counter argument in how the IC title has been defended on a few occasions then. But while I agree that the guy holding the IC title is generally also a mid carder, he is perhaps viewed as a notch above the one holding the US title by the powers that be.

In the 6 year history of this PPV, not even once has the US title been successfully defended at MITB.
Could this year’s PPV be a first?
