Beth Phoenix has been working as a commentator on NXT over the past few months and has played her own part in the Women's Revolution, but she could have seen her husband make his return to the ring and made the decision that she wants one final run.
Edge's obviously didn't go to plan, but there are so many women in the Division right now who could work with Phoenix in a way that they couldn't a few years ago when she was still an active part of the roster.

The former Women's Champion was always considered to be ahead of her time and this could be her way of retiring on her own terms in a match that she's proud of. She would then be able to wrestle the likes of Shayna Baszler, Becky Lynch and even Natalya once more and then retire at WrestleMania if that's the place she chooses.
Phoenix has proved many times in the past that she still has what it takes to make a return and even wrestled for the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania last year.
