While most would assume that Vince McMahon would have been the first person who’d have wanted his daughter to appear in WWE, it was Jim Cornette who suggested the move in the first place.
Bruce Prichard spoke about the time when Cornette suggested that Stephanie should be used on camera while appearing on the Something to Wrestle podcast:
“Contrary to popular belief, from my knowledge, the first person to suggest Stephanie being on camera was [Jim Cornette impression to follow in italics] Godda*mn Jim Cornette, what the **** is this big ***** Demi Moore looking ***** doing walking around the house and we don’t have her on camera? Cornette thought she would be perfect. She was good looking, put her ass on TV. She’s a McMahon, exploit the name. It was Jim Cornette the first time I ever heard it.”
Cornette made the right call, and it did not take Stephanie long to become a big on-screen character for WWE in the 90s. She is still someone fans want to see appear on their television screens.
