#2 A brief Undisputed Era reunion in the Championship match
The NXT Champion Karrion Kross demanded a five-way match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. General Manager William Regal begrudgingly accepted, and after weeks of brawls between all five competitors, we were given one of the most brutal main events TakeOver has ever produced.
Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Kyle O'Reilly, and Adam Cole were trying to steal the championship by beating one another. However, the main story of this match was their united attempts to bring down a seemingly unstoppable Karrion Kross. In a post-match interview, Kross stated that he "punched a hole" through the Mount Rushmore of NXT, and he was right.
Several times, all four challengers ganged up on Kross to try and put him away, but he always managed to withstand the punishment, delivering hellacious clotheslines, boots, and Doomsday Saitos to anyone who stepped up to him.
Adam Cole baited the champion to the In Your House entrance way, where Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne launched him through the door. In no time, Kross recovered and launched several bodies over the barricade.
Even Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly were forced to put their differences aside to take out the Bringer of Doomsday, working together to drive him into the announcer's desk with a vicious powerbomb. As Kross loves to point out, though, in the end everybody pays the toll.
At the end of the match, Cole was left in O'Reilly's heel hook, a moment that the NXT Champion predicted and claimed could be his downfall. However, he managed to wrap his meaty arms around O'Reilly and synch in the Kross Jacket to walk away still NXT Champion.
#1 NXT TakeOver opens with a barricade breaking match
What was it that Big E said on the New Day Podcast last year? He wanted big meaty men slapping meat? If that's the kind of match he's wanting, he better call out NXT's resident Thiccboi himself, Bronson Reed.
The NXT fans have really gotten behind this monster, following him from Breakout all the way to his rise to NXT North American Champion.
At TakeOver, Reed flattened the leader of Legado Del Fantasma, Santos Escobar, against the barricade, as you can see in the above clip. On the go-home show of NXT, Reed and his tag partners MSK showed the footage over and over again, reminding Santos what was coming to him in their six-man match at TakeOver.
Bronson Reed proved that he was no liar, as the Colossal One not only repeated the spot, but crashed through the barricade, completely demolishing Santos in the process.
He wasn't getting up from that. He probably had to be peeled off the floor with a spatula or something.
What were your most memorable moments from NXT TakeOver: In Your House? Do you think the show lived up to the hype?
