The former NXT North American Champion, Velveteen Dream returned to the Black and Gold brand a couple of weeks ago. He was off-TV for a considerable amount of time after allegations against him came to light. But his return to NXT recently came as a surprise to many.
As per the reports, Velveteen Dream still has a lot of backstage heat after his return, due to his behavioral issues. He is reportedly getting 'preferential treatment' in several situations, where other Superstars in his position could have been fired.
Velveteen Dream lost his return match to qualify for the ladder match for the vacant NXT North American Championship at NXT TakeOver: XXX. But this past week on NXT, he managed to win the second chance match and will now be competing in the ladder match at TakeOver XXX.
The other participants in the match are Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Johnny Gargano, and Cameron Grimes. The match has all the potential to steal the show and be the match of the night. As for Velveteen Dream, it is to be seen what's next for him on NXT.
