Something that one must note is that in 2020, the two world champions in WWE are Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, both men who are draws to this day but are definitely past their prime. The audience let Goldberg know that they aren't behind him when he squared off with Roman Reigns on SmackDown this week, drowning him in boos and in insults.
Chris Jericho may be able to go at the highest level at his age, but the fact remains that he too, is way past his prime. AEW had a chance to change the narrative by putting the title on a significantly younger man and they did just that at Revolution.

Jon Moxley is exactly the kind of Champion that the modern wrestling fan wants to see, or at least the 'smarks' do. He is someone who was in a position that he didn't care for, and left a great job to do his own thing.
Whether you love him or hate him, one has to salute the new Champion. Go, Jon Moxley!
