#2 WCW aired Clash of Champions VI Ragin' Cajun for free on the same day and time as Wrestlemania V
Clash of Champions was originally an event for WCW ahead of 2016 and it played a crucial part in the war between WCW and WWE. Back in 1989 as part of the 6th annual Clash of Champions event, WCW aired the event live on free TV as a way to hurt WWE's pay-per-view ratings since it was the same day and time as WrestleMania V.
The show included matches between the likes of Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair, Sting and Rip Morgan as well as the main event between Lex Luger and Jack Victory which helped to draw a crowd of 5,300 as well as a 4.3 rating on TBS.
WrestleMania V, by comparison, managed to draw a live crowd of 18,946 since the likes of Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre The Giant, Jake "The Snake Roberts" and The Hart Foundation were all part of the show.
It's well-known that WWE ended up buying out WCW and winning the Monday Night Wars, but more than two decades later, it appears that The Wednesday Night Wars could be looming.
