Clash of Champions VI was direct competition for WrestleMania V
Clash of Champions was originally an event for WCW ahead of 2016 and it played a crucial part in the war between WCW and WWE. Back in 1989 as part of the 6th annual Clash of Champions event, WCW aired the event live on free TV as a way to hurt WWE's pay-per-view ratings since it was the same day and time as WrestleMania V.
