#2 Asuka
Asuka was meant to be the Goldberg of the modern era of women's wrestling, but that did not occur on the main roster. Nevertheless, down in NXT Asuka was a tank, as her only objective was to beat the living hell out of her opponents to pick up victories.
Whoever wrote that script for the former Women's Champion deserves a pay raise, because fans all over the world fell in love with that version of Asuka. Fans longed for that rowdy champion, and Triple H made sure Asuka was that in NXT.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
When Asuka moved to the main roster, what many of us wanted to witness was Asuka go toe to toe with the best wrestlers around. To WWE's credit, they gave us what we wanted. From Charlotte Flair to Becky Lynch, Asuka fought them all, but it was still not enough.
The biggest fight of Asuka's career that never happened was Asuka vs Ronda Rousey. So, without that dream match to look forward too, what has Asuka been up to since her last big narrative? Well, if we're honest here, the Empress of Tomorrow has been drifting on SmackDown Live for the past few months.
While the company paired Asuka with the incredibly talented Kairi Sane, WWE has not done much with the team in the past few months. WWE needs to take Asuka seriously again, and you don't need me telling you that Asuka can be the World Champion right now if her booking is good. If given a chance to go back to NXT, Asuka could add a layer of depth to a thin women's division that needs a big boost.
