WWE Royal Rumble will air live next year from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The premium live event will take place on February 1, 2025. The Men's and Women's Royal Rumble match winners will earn a title match at WrestleMania 41.
Only thirty stars are allowed to compete in the Royal Rumble match, which means that several major stars may not make the cut. Cody Rhodes and Bayley won the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble matches earlier this year.
Listed below are five major WWE stars who may miss the Royal Rumble 2025.
#5. Omos may not be in action at WWE Royal Rumble 2025
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Omos is over seven feet tall and has competed in the last three Men's Royal Rumble matches. However, he has not been used on WWE television as of late and has not wrestled since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal won by Bronson Reed in April.
MVP used to serve as Omos' manager, but the veteran departed the company earlier this year and now works for All Elite Wrestling. The Nigerian Giant could be an imposing force in the Royal Rumble match, but it appears that the company no longer has any plans for him.
#4. Asuka could miss next year's show
Asuka won the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble match in 2018 and went on to challenge Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. However, Flair defeated The Empress of Tomorrow via submission to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship.
The Damage CTRL star has not competed in a match since The Kabuki Warriors lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at WWE Backlash. The veteran was pulled from the Queen of the Ring Tournament due to a knee injury and has not returned to action since. Asuka may be forced to miss the event next February if her injury prevents her from returning to the ring.
#3. Charlotte Flair may not return ahead of the premium live event
Charlotte Flair has missed the entire year so far due to a significant injury. The veteran suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a singles match against Asuka on the December 8, 2023, episode of WWE SmackDown.
Flair still has not returned from the injury, despite rumors that she could return soon. Much like Asuka, Flair could be in danger of missing the Women's Royal Rumble due to injury.
#2. Bronson Reed may miss the event after suffering a major injury
Bronson Reed joined Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline to compete in the Men's WarGames match at the WWE Survivor Series. Reed went for a Tsunami Splash off the top of the cage, but CM Punk was able to pull Roman Reigns out of the way at the last moment. The former North American Champion had a rough landing and suffered a broken ankle at the premium live event.
Reed will likely be out of action for the foreseeable future and may miss the Men's premium live event next year. The 36-year-old won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal earlier this year, and the company appeared to be getting behind him before the unfortunate injury.
#1. Jade Cargill could be out of action for a while
Jade Cargill was supposed to compete in the Women's United States Championship tournament and the Women's WarGames Match at Survivor Series but was taken out by a mystery star last month. The Women's Tag Team Champion was attacked on the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown and has not returned to television since.
Following the attack, Cargill could be out of action for an extended period and may miss the Women's Royal Rumble match next February. It is still unknown which WWE Superstar attacked the 32-year-old last month on the blue brand.
